Rangers fans believe and hope that Sheyi Ojo is on his way to Ibrox after the player posted a cryptic social media message on Saturday.

Last week there were reports from outlets such as The Daily Star that the winger was on the verge of signing a new deal at Liverpool before being farmed out on loan to the Gers next season.

The 21-year-old spent the 2018/19 campaign at Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims having completed previous loan spells at Fulham, Wolves and Wigan.

Adept at playing on the left or right flanks, he’s also made a number of first-team appearances for the Reds in recent seasons and clearly the Anfield side rate him highly if he is to be awarded a new deal.

With a move for Ryan Kent looking unlikely, Ojo could be the perfect replacement if he does sign up to Steven Gerrard’s squad.

These fans are convinced he’s on his way, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts over the weekend…

Manchester United and Liverpool are more than likely going to be on opposite ends of the spectrum in the transfer window in terms of the amount of business needing to be done.

While United will be looking to complete a massive summer overhaul, Liverpool will be keen to keep their squad together and will surely only look to tinker if the right player becomes available.

One of the players that both clubs are being linked with a move for though is Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, who has been disappointing in his spell with Bayern Munich, dramatically seeing his stock drop since his breathtaking 2014 World Cup campaign.

The Colombian is undoubtedly a massive talent, but here in the Tavern, we feel that both United and Liverpool need to be wary of snapping up the 27-year-old.

This last season saw him net only seven times in a massively successful Bayern side, and with the German giants not wanting to keep hold of the Madrid man, there has to be some questions asked about just what is holding Rodriguez back from fulfilling his huge potential as a footballer.

At 27 though, he should be coming into the prime of his career, but something is just not quite sitting right with him. This should be of particular concern for United, who are looking to bring in players of suitable character to their squad who want to play for the club and prove themselves. There is an argument to be made that Rodriguez might only choose a move to Old Trafford purely for financial benefit.

Liverpool on the other hand may well need that bit of extra quality, but is Jurgen Klopp going to be able to get the maximum out of Rodriguez? It is a question which can only be answered obviously going forward.

Either way, the Colombian is a risky signing for both clubs given his salary and track record in the last few seasons.

لم يتواجد مولر، هوملز وبواتنج مع منتخب ألمانيا منذ مارس 2019، عندما أعلن لوف عدم استدعائهم مرة أخرى في المستقبل، ولكن ربما الهزيمة من إسبانيا تفتح الباب أمامهم للعودة من جديد.

وتحدث توماس عن هزيمة ألمانيا في تصريحات لشبكة “سكاي سبورتس”، وقال: “خسارتنا أمام إسبانيا مؤلمة بالتأكيد، لأنك تشعر بمعاناة زملائك والمقربين منك وأيضًا الجماهير”.

وعن العودة إلى المنتخب من جديد إلى جانب هوملز وبواتنج: “كما قلت من قبل، لم يعتزل أحدًا منا دوليًا”.

أكد المدافع الهولندي، ستيفان دي فراي، أن فريقه إنتر ميلان لم يفقد الأمل في التأهل إلى دور الـ16 من بطولة دوري أبطال أوروبا، رغم الهزيمة من ريال مدريد.

وشدد: “هي أشياء لا يمكنك التحكم فيها، لكن يجب علينا التركيز فقط ومحاولة الفوز في المباريات، وتعويض النقاط الضائعة في الجولات الماضية”.

Tottenham Hotspur fans continue to sweat over the fitness of Harry Kane.

The England striker has reportedly confirmed that he is fit to play in the Champions League final against Liverpool on Saturday in Madrid.

There remains genuine intrigue over manager Mauricio Pochettino’s selection, however, with Lucas Moura having scored a hat-trick against Ajax in the semi-final; will he be dropped?

The fact of the matter, though, is this: It is Winks who is the most important Harry for Spurs this weekend, not Kane.

Winks is an exceptional midfield player and he too is a fitness doubt. He hasn’t played for the club since April, missing the second leg against Manchester City in the quarter-finals and both legs of the encounter with Ajax, and has recently undergone groin surgery.

Without him, Spurs have lacked control in midfield. Victor Wanyama started all of the three games that Winks missed and has, quite frankly, looked out of his depth.

That is perhaps not his fault but Ajax ran rings around him in the semi-finals and, in Amsterdam, he was substituted and replaced by Fernando Llorente at half-time.

Having the England international in the centre of the pitch, though, has a two-pronged effect on the club’s midfield. Firstly, Spurs have a greater opportunity to dominate possession and dictate proceedings. And secondly, Moussa Sissoko is freed up and allowed to drive forward, influencing the game in the final third.

Per WhoScored, across nine Champions League games, Winks averages one key pass per game, along with a 90.7% pass completion rate.

He makes 1.8 tackles per game, 0.8 interceptions and plays 2.6 long balls. This is a player who does really well whenever he’s on the pitch and while he doesn’t have one particularly standout skill, he is remarkably efficient at pretty much everything.

Wanyama, by comparison, is slow and ponderous on the turn, while Eric Dier is essentially worse than the Kenyan in every single area, bar free-kicks.

Winks’ return to fitness, then, could be the key to Spurs winning the midfield battle, dominating possession and creating chances.

If Kane is out, it is expected that one of Lucas, Son Heung-Min, Christian Eriksen or Dele Alli will step up. Without Winks, Spurs’ hopes rest on Wanyama and Dier.

He is quite clearly the most important returnee this weekend.

The phrase “one step forward two steps back” gets tossed around a lot in football, but for Arsenal, one big risk in the transfer window could well have that phrase reversed. Selling one of their star men could see them kick on massively, taking one step backwards to go two steps forward.

The player in question is the goalscoring machine, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and there are so many reasons why the Gabonese international could be allowed to leave this summer.

“Auba” is being linked with a move away from the Emirates by The Times, who have reported that the soon-to-be 30-year-old striker is being offered wages of around £300,000 p/w by Chinese Super League clubs Guangzhou Evergrande and Shanghai SIPG. Should the transfer fee involved be as astronomical as these touted wages, Unai Emery may have no choice but to let his hitman go.

There are a lot of reasons why you may want to see Aubameyang stay put this season, Arsenal fans, but there’s quite a few reasons as to why he should leave too. The first of those is his age. This season he bagged 22 league goals at the age of 29, but by the start of next season he’ll be in his thirties, and with pace a huge part of his game, his biggest threat will soon dwindle.

Then you’ve got the fact that whilst the electric hitman did bag 22 top-flight goals last season, securing him the joint Golden Boot alongside Liverpool wingers Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, he also recorded the highest tally in the division for big chances missed with an incredible 23 (Premier League).

So, we’ve established that Aubameyang misses sitters and is getting on a bit, but in terms of Arsenal’s progression as a club, moving him on could help ten-fold.

Not because he’s not the quality they need, far from it, but instead because his transfer fee could bankroll their entire summer. The Daily Star have claimed the Gunners have just £50m to play with, and Auba can bring in more than that on his own.

If that isn’t enough reason to think the 29-year-old should have played his last game for the club, then we’ll give you one more – Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchman won Arsenal’s player of the season award for his incredible performances this campaign, yet he often spent time on the bench as Emery accommodated his strike partner, so who knows how well the Frenchman would have fared with the limelight all to himself.

It might be tough for Arsenal fans to come to terms with, but if Emery can sign two or three players in problem areas with the Aubameyang money, get an ageing player out of the squad and give Lacazette the game time he deserves, they simply have to take it, don’t they?

وتم اتخاذ هذا القرار بناءً على المادة 91 من قانون الانضباط التي تنص على أن “لاعب كرة القدم الذي يقوم بخلع قميصه ويعرض أي نوع من الإعلانات أو الشعارات أو الرسومات، أيًا كان محتواها أو الغرض من الإجراء، سيتم معاقبة مرتكب الفعل بغرامة تصل إلى 3000 يورو وتحذير”.

After Morgan Sanson in the last week, Villarreal’s Pablo Fornals has become the latest central attacking midfielder linked with a move to West Ham United.

The club are reportedly closing in on a transfer for the £31m former Spain international, a historical favourite of manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The Hammers expect to have made progress on this and other signings within the next seven to ten days as they look to get their business done nice and early ahead of the end of the summer transfer window in August.

With multiple players who ply their trade in the number ten position already linked, one would naturally fear for the future of the Irons’ “Jewel”, Manuel Lanzini.

Since he arrived in east London in the summer of 2015, he’s been virtually unchallenged in the role of playing off the strikers in the hole, when fit that is.

But having been linked with a transfer himself this window away from London Stadium with only a year left on his current contract, certain signs point to his exit in the next couple of months.

However, as we’re going to prove today, the arrival of Fornals doesn’t have to be bad news for Lanzini as the pair can both fit into the same West Ham team to give Pellegrini a sure supply line of goals through the middle.

As you can see in the above line-up graphic a change of formation would be needed for Pellegrini but it is a possible and attractive prospect with Lanzini and Fornals in the starting Xl alongside one and other.

The Chilean could stick with a back four with just the one holding midfielder in Declan Rice, who would then be the captain, protecting the defence on his own.

This would mean dropping club captain Mark Noble, but it would be a necessary evil of having such a creative core and giving his team the best chance of not being outscored by the likes of Bournemouth again.

Fornals and Lanzini would take up central positions behind a lone striker with wingers either side of them, and the licence to go wherever they want to go in the final third. That said, they will also obviously need to do their defensive duties on occasions, too.

This double dosage of creativity would undoubtedly be too much for most Premier League midfields and defences to handle next season.
